Benguela Health Group (Benguela) was established following recognition of a need for a top quality, integrated health care consultancy in Africa. The mission of Benguela is to provide innovation and practical advice, support and solutions for the improvement of health care and health systems in Africa. Benguela competes for consulting assignments in the public and private health care environments provided that the partners are satisfied that the project will contribute to improved health care and that the highest ethical standards will be applied. Benguela functions as a group holding company, operating from Geneva and from country subsidiary companies in South Africa and Nigeria.
Benguela has a core set of senior managers and professionals and support staff are recruited and employed on fixed contracts for large projects. Benguela maintains a data base of independent consultants from all over the world from which the Group can draw expertise for specific assignments. In selected cases Benguela may employ specific expertise on assignment through advertisement for appropriate consultancies.
