World Health Organization – WHO AFRO

WHO's objective is the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health. Health is defined in WHO’s constitution as a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity

HIV-related Mission

WHO contributes to the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS and STIs in the WHO African Region by providing technical support and catalytic funding to countries for the strengthening of national capacity to adopt appropriate policies, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate health sector-based HIV and STI activities. These actions are expected to contribute to the reduction of HIV transmission, improvement of access to care and support for people living with HIV and mitigation of the impact of HIV on the health sector, within a national multisectoral strategic framework
